I feel really fortunate.

I’ve started 4 companies, raised $55 million from VC investors, turned around PE companies, and recruited over 3,000 people.

After graduating from Wharton & Kellogg, I worked for 2 of the world’s top executive search firms Heidrick & Struggles and Spencer Stuart. Inc. Magazine even featured me on the cover and called me “The Matchmaker” for my recruiting expertise.

But all those don’t mean a thing.

What’s truly valuable is that, along the way, I’ve made every recruiting mistake in the book. But I learned & improved. I dissected recruiting. I studied the things that are truly predictive. I’ve interviewed the experts. I’ve created nearly-foolproof methods for accurate hiring.

And I want you to benefit from my experience. I’ve now advised hundreds of entrepreneurs along the way. With what I’ve learned about improving the recruitment process, I wrote the book “Hiring Growth Rockstars” to capture these hard-won lessons.

If you’re interested, here’s a little bit about me…

I started my first company when I was 13. Yep, 13. With the TRS-80 I got for my bar mitzvah (thanks, Mom), I created a little business called Compu-Labels. Nothing fancy, really. My passion for entrepreneurship continued into high school – started 2 more companies, selling everything from bootleg rock concert photos to Physics class notes. (My social life? Not so much.)

With each startup, I got better & better. The first one was rough going. I’d never hired people before or led them. Or raised investor capital. I got rejected 84 times until I met one true believer (thanks, Brad!) The learning curve was insane. We sold the company, and I was on my way. And we got some good press coverage along the way.
